Did you know that as of February 20th of this year there were an estimated 172 million Tumblr sites and 75.8 million WordPress blogs in existence worldwide? That doesn’t even take into consideration all of the millions of blogs hosted on other popular platforms. That’s a whole lot of style posts, recipes, and diys, folks. With all of the beautiful images and well written content out there, it takes some effort to sort through the riff raff and find things that are truly inspiring. There is so much similarity, especially in the lifestyle space. Some unique opportunities have arisen in the last month and have forced me to think about the trajectory of where this site is going and my styling career and I found myself asking questions like “what is actually inspiring on the internet these days?” There are still a lot of unanswered questions like “how many hours a week am I okay being away from Parker?” and “Who should take care of her when I am away?” (Motherhood, man!), but in the meantime these are 4 things happening on the world wide web right now that actually inspire thought and stir my creativity. What sites do the same for you?
Leandra’s Chatroom series is seriously captivating
The word inimitable gets thrown around a lot, but Erin Hiemstra’s aesthetic is truly that.
This site is wildly popular and for good reason. I want to eat everything she makes and learn her genius food styling ways.
I worked with this stylist on a Gap shoot awhile back and have been keeping up with her blog ever since. Her voice is authentic and witty and awesome and I’ve found myself inspired by her design ideas on many occasions.
